Ingredients

  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 16 ounces canned tomatoes, undrained and chopped
  • 1 can black olives, pitted and drained
  • 12 ounces corn kernels, fresh or frozen
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 4 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • - "just a pinch" of pepper
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

How To Make chili casserole

  • Step 1
    Brown onion in butter in skillet.
  • Step 2
    Add meat and brown.
  • Step 3
    Drain off fat.
  • Step 4
    Add remaining ingredients except cheese and mix.
  • Step 5
    Season.
  • Step 6
    Put in a 3 quart baking dish and sprinkle with cheese.
  • Step 7
    Bake at 350 for 40 to 50 minutes.
