Love this recipe. The whole family does. All you need is some coleslaw and you have your meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • - salt to taste
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce, plus one can of water
  • 2 cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup self-rising corn meal
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 - egg

How To Make chili and cornbread casserole

  • Step 1
    Brown ground beef and onion. Drain.
  • Step 2
    Add chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce and water. Cover and simmer 5-10 min. Add beans and pour into ungreased casserole dish.
  • Step 3
    Mix cornmeal, buttermilk, and egg. Pour over meat mixture and spread it around.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes or till cornbread is done and browned.
