  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • ·
    salt to taste
  • 8 oz
    tomato sauce, plus one can of water
  • 2 can(s)
    kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 c
    self-rising corn meal
  • 1 c
  • 1

How to Make Chili and Cornbread Casserole


  1. Brown ground beef and onion. Drain.
  2. Add chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce and water. Cover and simmer 5-10 min. Add beans and pour into ungreased casserole dish.
  3. Mix cornmeal, buttermilk, and egg. Pour over meat mixture and spread it around.
  4. Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes or till cornbread is done and browned.
