Love this recipe. The whole family does. All you need is some coleslaw and you have your meal!

1/2 c
onion, chopped
1 Tbsp
chili powder
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
salt to taste
8 oz
tomato sauce, plus one can of water
2 can(s)
kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 c
self-rising corn meal
1 c

How to Make Chili and Cornbread Casserole


  • 1Brown ground beef and onion. Drain.
  • 2Add chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce and water. Cover and simmer 5-10 min. Add beans and pour into ungreased casserole dish.
  • 3Mix cornmeal, buttermilk, and egg. Pour over meat mixture and spread it around.
  • 4Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes or till cornbread is done and browned.
