Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 - finely chopped onion
- 1 - green pepper, diced
- 16 ounces kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 16 ounces tomatoes, drained and diced
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1 - minced garlic clove
- 1 small bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano, crushed
- 2-3 teaspoons chili powder
How To Make chili

Step 1In a heavy pot melt butter.

Step 2Crumble meat into pot.

Step 3Cook a few minutes until meat is no longer pink.

Step 4Remove.

Step 5To the pot, add onion and pepper.

Step 6Cook a few minutes, stirring, until vegetables are soft.

Step 7Add meat.

Step 8Stir to combine.

Step 9Add remaining ingredients.

Step 10Heat to a boil.

Step 11Reduce heat.

Step 12Cook, stirring occasionally, at least 45 minutes.

Step 13Remove bay leaf.

Step 14Serve immediately.
