I loved chicken fried chicken at Cracker Barrel when I was pregnant with my daughter. My hubby teased me about it, but when I made him this steak version after she was born (and I could stand to smell anything frying), he was a convert!

Ingredients
- 2 1/2-3 pounds round steak
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 5 ounces evaporated milk
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons green tabasco sauce
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- - vegetable oil
How To Make chicken fried steak

Step 1Trim steak and pound if needed to 1/2' thick. Cut into 6-8 pieces. Combine milk, tabasco and salt. Combine 1 c flour and spices. Dip steak into plain 1 c flour, then milk, then seasoned flour. Set aside meat until all coated. Heat 1-2" oil in heavy fry pan and fry meat golden, about 2 min per side. Drain on paper towels. Serve with cream gravy made from seasoned flour. Serve with mashed potatoes and biscuits.
