Ingredients
- 2 pounds round steak, 1/2" thick
- 2 - eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 cups cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup shortening
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make chicken fried round steak

Step 1Cut steak into serving pieces.

Step 2Pound steak thoroughly.

Step 3Mix eggs and milk.

Step 4Dip meat into egg mixture, then into cracker crumbs.

Step 5Brown, slowly, on both sides in hot shortening.

Step 6Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 7Cover, tightly, cook over very low heat 45 to 60 minutes or until tender.

Step 8Serve with Southern gravy over steaks.
