Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds ground beef
- 1 - diced onion
- 1 - celery stalk, finely chopped
- 32 ounces tomato sauce
- 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup water
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 3 - potatoes, thinly sliced
- 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
How To Make cheese-topped beef and potato bake

Step 1Cook beef, onion and celery until browned.

Step 2Stir in tomato sauce, mushrooms, water, salt, sugar and pepper.

Step 3Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low.

Step 4Cover and simmer 5 minutes.

Step 5Into a 9x13-inch baking dish, spoon 1/3 of beef mixture.

Step 6Arrange 1/2 of potato slices on top.

Step 7Repeat, ending with ground beef mixture.

Step 8Cover dish with foil.

Step 9Bake in a 375 degree oven for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender.

Step 10Remove from oven.

Step 11Discard foil.

Step 12Sprinkle with cheese.

Step 13Return to oven just until cheese melts.
