Ground sirloin melts in your mouth anyway. But why not simmer some sliders in caramelized peppers and onions and serve them on a sweet little bun? Add some coarse Dijon and I am a happy camper.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground sirloin
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 jar Mezzetta roasted bell pepper strips and caramelized onions, well-drained (12 oz)
  • 3 slices Swiss cheese, each cut into quarters
  • 3 tablespoons coarse ground mustard
  • 1 package Hawaiian dinner rolls, toasted (12 rolls)

How To Make caramelized onion and pepper sirloin sliders

  • Step 1
Combine the meat and ketchup. Form into 12 balls and flatten into small burgers.
  • Step 2
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add burgers and cook until well-browned on both sides. Remove burgers from the skillet. Pour off any fat.
  • Step 3
Add drained onions and peppers to the skillet and heat to a simmer.
  • Step 4
Place the burgers back into the skillet. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 1-2 minutes or until desired doneness. Top the burgers with the cheese if desired and cook until the cheese is melted.
  • Step 5
To serve, spread the bottom of the buns with a little coarse ground mustard.
  • Step 6
Place the burgers on the buns.
  • Step 7
Top each with 1 heaping tablespoon of caramelized onions and peppers. Then place the top on and serve.
