    ground beef, extra lean
  • 2 large
    garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 28 oz
    whole tomatoes
  • 1 c
    picante sauce
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • ·
    salt and pepper, to taste
  • 17 oz
    corn, drained
  • 15 oz
    pinto beans, drained
  • 8
    green onions, sliced
  • ·
    fresh cilantro, garnishment

How to Make Candy Wagner's Tex-Mex Stew

Step-by-Step

  1. In Dutch oven brown meat with garlic in oil; drain.
  2. Drain and coarsely chop tomatoes, reserving juice. Add tomatoes, juice, picante sauce, cumin, salt and pepper to meat mixture.
  3. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20-30 minutes.
  4. Add corn, beans, and onions; continue cooking, uncovered 10 minutes.
  5. Top with cilantro, if desired, and serve with additional picante sauce.
