vegetable oil

whole tomatoes

picante sauce
1 tsp
ground cumin
salt and pepper, to taste
17 oz
corn, drained
15 oz
pinto beans, drained
green onions, sliced
fresh cilantro, garnishment

How to Make Candy Wagner's Tex-Mex Stew


  • 1In Dutch oven brown meat with garlic in oil; drain.
  • 2Drain and coarsely chop tomatoes, reserving juice. Add tomatoes, juice, picante sauce, cumin, salt and pepper to meat mixture.
  • 3Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20-30 minutes.
  • 4Add corn, beans, and onions; continue cooking, uncovered 10 minutes.
  • 5Top with cilantro, if desired, and serve with additional picante sauce.
