tomato sauce
2 Tbsp
1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp
freshly ground black pepper

How to Make Calgary Pot Roast


  • 1Braising in tomato sauce guarantees tender, flavorful beef.
  • 2Trim all fat from roast.
  • 3Rub dry mustard and salt into the surface of the meat.
  • 4Place in a lightly greased, oven-proof dish.
  • 5Top with onion.
  • 6Combine tomato sauce, vinegar, thyme and pepper.
  • 7Pour over roast and cover tightly.
  • 8Bake at 325 for 3 hours until meat is tender.
