This is my 95 yr old Grandma's recipe. Major comfort food!!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
  • 1 large can tomatoes, chopped fine
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 cups water or broth (can be adjusted)
  • 2 cans pinto beans (or 4 cups cooked pintos)
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make cabbage patch stew

  • Step 1
    Brown meat. Remove from pan and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Add water and cook onion, celery and cabbage until tender.
  • Step 3
    Add remaining ingredients (including meat) and simmer for 30-40 minutes.
