cabbage and ground beef casserole
This is a simple old recipe that makes up quickly and tastes good. If you like cabbage you will like this. Its filling and economical. Grandma used to make this when we had been working outdoors all day and there was not a lot of time for cooking. It stirs up quickly and then bakes in the oven for an hour without fuss.

Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)
- 6 cups chopped cabbage
- 1 can condensed tomato soup
How To Make cabbage and ground beef casserole

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown beef and onion. Drain off any grease. Place 3 cups cabbage in the bottom of a 2 quart casserole. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover with meat mixture. Salt and pepper to taste. Top with remaining cabbage. Pour soup over all. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover and bake for 1 hour. You may wish to remove cover for the final 10-15 minutes of baking.
