These are really good! And short ribs are still pretty cheap! A lady just asked me if this could be done in a crockpot. Please scroll down to comments to see my answer!

Ingredients

  • 6 pounds beef short ribs
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 3/8 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons splenda brown sugar blend
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce, low sodium
  • 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 2 cups crushed pineapple

How To Make bunyan's diabetic sweet & sour short ribs

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400
  • Step 2
    Spray a baking dish with Pam, place ribs in pann, sprinkle with seasonings
  • Step 3
    Bake at 400 for 30 minutes, pour off excess fat. Reduce heat to 350 bake 20 minutes longer, pour off excess fat.
  • Step 4
    In a saucepan dissolve splenda cornstarch and ginger in water
  • Step 5
    Add soy sauce and vinegar. Cook until sauce thickens, stirring frequently
  • Step 6
    Stir in pineapple and bring to a boil. After sauce come to a boil remove from heat
  • Step 7
    Pour sauce over ribs
  • Step 8
    Bake at 350 for 90 minutes basting occasionally
  • Step 9
    Skim off excess fat before serving
