Ingredients
- 4 pounds beef brisket
- 1 large onion diced
- 2 - carrots diced
- 2 - ribs celery diced
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 cup beer
- 1 tablespoon flour
How To Make bunyan's diabetic alehouse brisket

Step 1Preheat oven to 550

Step 2Place meat, onion, carrot, & celery in roasting pan and brown uncovered in oven. About 15 mins

Step 3After browning lower oven to 300

Step 4Season meat with pepper.

Step 5Dissolve onion soup mix in water.

Step 6Mix ketchup and beer together and add to soup mixture.

Step 7Pour mixture over meat.

Step 8Cover pan with foil and roast for 3 hours or until tender.

Step 9Add flour to 1/4 cup pan drippings to make a paste.

Step 10Stir paste into gravy in pan.

Step 11To make a thicker gravy, add more flour.

Step 12Return pan to oven and continue roasting for an additional 30 minutes.

Step 13Slice meat across grain and serve with gravy.
