Here is another family favorite handed down from my mother in law. Good enough for company and trust me they request it!

Ingredients

  • CRUST

  • 2 c
    all purpose baking mix
  • 1 c
    cold water
  • 1/2 c
    shredded cheese
  • FILLING

  • 1-1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 2 c
    mushrooms, fresh (chopped coarsely)
  • 2 - 1/2 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 box
    broccoli, frozen
  • TOPPING

  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    parmesan cheese, grated
  • 4 medium
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 dash(es)
    pepper

How to Make Broccoli Beef Squares

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Spray 9 X 13" baking dish with non-stick cooking spray
  3. Grate 3 cups of cheddar cheese and thaw 1 pkg of frozen broccoli
  4. Mix crust ingredients together and pat into baking dish and up the sides about 1/4"
  5. Brown ground beef then add rest of ingredients for filling
  6. Pour beef and cheese mixture over crust and even out with a spatula
  7. Sprinkle frozen broccoli evenly over top of beef mixture
  8. Beat together topping ingredients and pour over beef mixture
  9. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes until edges are golden brown
  10. Cut into squares and serve. Great leftover and easy to freeze
