Ingredients

  • 5 pounds beef brisket
  • 1 - chopped onion
  • 1 - chopped carrot
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 1.5 teaspoons thyme
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pound onions, small white
  • 6 - carrots, cut in pieces

How To Make brisket crockpot dinner

  • Step 1
    Cut brisket in half or roll to fit into crockpot.
  • Step 2
    Add chopped onion, chopped carrot, bay leaf, thyme, salt and water.
  • Step 3
    Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours.
  • Step 4
    When meat is done, lift gently from stock.
  • Step 5
    Support underneath with a spatula and keep warm.
  • Step 6
    Add small onions and carrots to stock in crockpot.
  • Step 7
    Cover and cook on high 1 to 2 hours.
  • Step 8
    Remove vegetables from broth with a slotted spoon and arrange around the meat.
