I think I got this recipe in the year 2001 from A Taste of Home Magazine but I'm not sure. Its a really good one for Company because you can prepare it ahead of time. I think you will really like it.Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2-3 lb
london broil or flank steak roll, i prefer flank steak
1/2 tsp
salt, i use coarse sea salt
1/4 tsp
2 Tbsp
vegetable oil
1 3/4 c
water, divided
1/2 c
packed brown sugar
1/2 c
1 medium
onion, cut into wedges
2 Tbsp
2 Tbsp
lemon juice
1 tsp
ground mustard
2 1/4 Tbsp
all purpose flour
hot cooked rice

How to Make Braised Beef Rolls


  • 1Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. In a Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the meat on both sides in oil; Drain.
  • 2Combine 1 1/2 cups of water, brown sugar, raisins,onion,vinegar,lemon juice, and mustard in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Combine flour and remaining water until smooth; Stir into raisin Sauce. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Pour over the meat rolls.
  • 3Cover and Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender. Serve over the Hot Rice.
