I first encountered these burgers about 30 years ago when I lived in New Orleans. There was a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant at the edge of the French Quarter (still there, I believe), called Port Of Call. They had a jukebox that played songs from the 50's and a blue cheese burger to die for! I still love it to this day.

How to Make BLUE CHEESE BURGERS

Step-by-Step

  1. Form the ground chuck into four generous patties and place in a cold 12-inch skillet. Over medium-low heat, cook slowly, adding salt and pepper and turning often.
  2. When burgers are almost done to your liking, sprinkle blue cheese over each. Cover and reduce heat to low. Continue cooking just until cheese melts.
  3. Serve on toasted buns with the garnish of your choice. They are SO yummy!
