Ingredients For betty's 20 minute teriyaki dinner

  • 1 Tbsp
    oil
  • 2 lb
    ground beef or pork, lean
  • 1 tsp
    minced ginger
  • 1 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 3 - 4 c
cooked, saved or frozen veggies (I used carrots, peas, broccoli and cauliflower)
  • 3/4 c
    teriyaki sauce
  • 4 Tbsp
    water, divided
  • 4
    green onions, sliced small
  • 1/2 tsp
    sesame oil (the secret ingredient)
  • 2 tsp
    cornstarch

How To Make betty's 20 minute teriyaki dinner

  • 1
In a skillet heat the oil over a medium high heat. Add the meat and cook, breaking up any large clumps. Meanwhile, chop and cook the vegetables except the green onions. Add the ginger and garlic to the cooked meat and stir until fragrant.
  • 2
Add the teriyaki sauce and add about 2 tablespoons of water to the measuring jug. Swish and add to the meat. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes.
  • 3
Add the vegetables and stir - if frozen, allow to heat through. Add the sliced green onions and sesame oil.
  • 4
In the measuring jug, add the cornstarch and remaining water. Mix well. Poor into the pan and mix, this will thicken the sauce to a gravy. Serve with rice or noodles.
