Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 pounds ground beef or pork, lean
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 3 - 4 cups cooked, saved or frozen veggies (I used carrots, peas, broccoli and cauliflower)
- 3/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 4 tablespoons water, divided
- 4 green onions, sliced small
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (the secret ingredient)
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
How To Make betty's 20 minute teriyaki dinner
-
Step 1In a skillet heat the oil over a medium high heat. Add the meat and cook, breaking up any large clumps. Meanwhile, chop and cook the vegetables except the green onions. Add the ginger and garlic to the cooked meat and stir until fragrant.
-
Step 2Add the teriyaki sauce and add about 2 tablespoons of water to the measuring jug. Swish and add to the meat. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes.
-
Step 3Add the vegetables and stir - if frozen, allow to heat through. Add the sliced green onions and sesame oil.
-
Step 4In the measuring jug, add the cornstarch and remaining water. Mix well. Poor into the pan and mix, this will thicken the sauce to a gravy. Serve with rice or noodles.
