I don't remember where I found this recipe, but my family loves it. We have taken it to church dinners and have had good comments. I'm always looking for new recipes for church functions.

Ingredients
- 2 eggs - beaten
- 2/3 c. - milk
- 3 - slices of bread torn into pieces
- 1/2 c. - chopped onions
- 1/2 c. - chopped bell pepper
- 1 c. - cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp. - salt
- 1 tsp. - sage, dried
- 1/4 tsp. - pepper
- 1 1/2 lbs. - ground beef
- TOPPING:
- 1 tsp. - mustard
- 1/2 c. - tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. - brown sugar
How To Make best ever meatloaf

Step 1In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add milk and bread; let stand a few minutes or until bread absorbs the liquid.

Step 2Stir in the onion, bell pepper, cheese, herbs and seasonings. Add beef; mix well.

Step 3In a shallow baking pan, shape beef mixture into a 7 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 mins.

Step 4Combine the topping ingredients; spoon some over meat loaf. Bake for about 30 mins. longer. Occasionally spooning some of the remaining topping over loaf. Let stand 10 mins. before serving.
