It really is the best I've ever eaten! I found this in a Tennessee Farm Bureau cookbook and have made it many times. Took it to many church suppers and usually brought none home!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 - green pepper, diced
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs (canned)
- 1 1/2 cups tomato juice or v8 juice
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Step 1Combine first 7 ingredients and mix well. Pack into lightly greased or sprayed loaf pan.

Step 2Mix the next 4 ingredients (sauce) and spread over meat loaf before baking.

Step 3Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
