This is my husband's favorite roast. He absolutely loves walking in the door in the evening and smelling this cooking.

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 pounds chuck roast
  • 1 can beer (no specific brand)
  • 1 bottle ketchup (small)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 - stalks of celery (chopped)
  • 1 - green bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 - onion (chopped)
  • - salt, pepper, onion salt, garlic powder to taste

How To Make beer roast

  • Step 1
    Put roast in large pan. Pour beer over roast. Next pour ketchup over the roast. Sprinkle sugar next. Add spices and then put chopped veggies on top. Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 3 to 4 hours. Make gravy out of your drippings.
  • Step 2
    I sometimes addcarrots, mushrooms, and celery to this.
  • Step 3
    There is a lot of juice so make sure you use a large pan.
