Ingredients
- 4 pounds beef short ribs
- salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 medium carrots cut into one inch pieces
- 1 medium yellow onion diced
- 4 cloves garlic mincec
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 12 ounces bottle founders porter dark beer or your favorite dark beer
- 4 sprigs thyme
- 4 sprigs rosemary
How To Make beer braised short ribs

Step 1Preheat oven 300 degrees. Season the ribs with salt and pepper. Add oil to large ovenproof pan with lid. Sear the ribs on all sides in batches then set aside on a plate.

Step 2Add the carrots and onions and cook until softened about 3 minutes.Add the garlic and cook 1 minutes. Add the tomato paste and flour and stir until well incorporated.

Step 3Add the beef stock and beer. Bring to a boil. Then turn the heat off and add the ribs back to the pan. Tie the sprigs of thyme and rosemary together and add to the pot.

Step 4Put lid on pot and place in oven. Bake for about 3 hours. Remove the meat to a plate. Discard the thyme and rosemary sprigs. Remove the vegetables with a slotted spoon and set aside on a plate.

Step 5Put the gravy through a fat separator and separate the fat and discard. Stir the vegetables back into the gravy and serve over the ribs.
