This recipe came from a church friend who makes this for potluck dinners. Both kids and adults like this a lot and it always disappears.

Ingredients For beefy bbq beans with biscuits

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1 can
    (28 ounces) baked beans, undrained
  • 1/2 c
    bbq sauce
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 c
    catsup
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can
    refrigerated biscuits, (6 biscuits)
  • 1 c
    shredded cheddar cheese

How To Make beefy bbq beans with biscuits

    Brown beef, garlic, and onion is a skillet until all pink is gone and onions are tender. Drain. Add beans, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, catsup, and salt and pepper. Simmer for 5-6 minutes or until hot through-out.

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Pour meat mixture into a 7 by 11 inch casserole. Separate biscuits and slice them in half, making 2 thinner circles of each biscuit. Place biscuits on top of meat mixture. Bake for 18 minutes. Remove from oven and top biscuits with cheese. Return to oven for 3-5 minutes or until cheese has melted. Serve immediately.
