Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast, trimmed
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • - water
  • 1.5 cups ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons taco sauce, hot
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 - minced garlic cloves
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 8 - hamburger buns

How To Make beef with hot sauce

  • Step 1
    Place meat, onion, celery and green pepper in dutch oven; cover with water.
  • Step 2
    Cover tightly and cook slowly 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until tender.
  • Step 3
    Remove meat; cool, shred and return to cooking liquid.
  • Step 4
    Add ketchup, taco sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, bay leaf, salt, mustard and chili powder.
  • Step 5
    Cook slowly 1 hour.
  • Step 6
    Remove bay leaf; serve on buns.
