Ingredients

  • 3 lb
    beef chuck roast, trimmed
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/2 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/2 c
    chopped green bell pepper
  • ·
    water
  • 1.5 c
    ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp
    taco sauce, hot
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 2
    minced garlic cloves
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 8
    hamburger buns

How to Make Beef with Hot Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Place meat, onion, celery and green pepper in dutch oven; cover with water.
  2. Cover tightly and cook slowly 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until tender.
  3. Remove meat; cool, shred and return to cooking liquid.
  4. Add ketchup, taco sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, bay leaf, salt, mustard and chili powder.
  5. Cook slowly 1 hour.
  6. Remove bay leaf; serve on buns.
