Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds petite shoulder or beef stew, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon woodfired garlic powder
- 2 - 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 2 1/2 cups low-sodium beef brother (reserve ½ cup)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- 4 cups cooked jasmine or basmati rice
- chopped fresh parsley
How To Make beef tips and rice

Step 1Whisk the flour, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in a shallow, wide bowl. Dredge the beef in the flour mixture.

Step 2Heat 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil in a Dutch oven or large pot over medium heat. Brown the beef tips, working in batches. Transfer the browned beef to a plate and cover to keep warm.

Step 3If needed, add more olive oil. Cook the onion over medium heat for 4-5 minutes.

Step 4Add the bell pepper and cook until the onion and bell pepper are soft. Reduce the heat to low and add the garlic, thyme, rosemary, and marjoram.

Step 5Return the beef to the pot with the vegetable mixture.

Step 6Add 2 cups of beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and bay leaves.

Step 7Simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Or place the covered pot in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until tender.

Step 8Whisk 1/2 cup beef broth with the corn starch.

Step 9Stir it into the pot and cook until thickened. Serve over cooked rice. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
