Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef tenderloin, sliced 1/4" thick
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 pound mushroom halves, sliced
  • dash salt
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef bouillon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sherry
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire
  • 1 cup sour cream

How To Make beef stroganoff, mom's

  • Step 1
    Roll beef in 1/4 c flour and sprinkle with 1/4 t pepper and 1 1/2 t salt. Saute in 1/4 c butter. Saute onion, garlic, mushrooms and dash of salt in remaining butter. Drain drippings from both and add 2 T flour, bouillon, remaining salt, sherry and Worcestershire. Simmer several minutes then add sour cream and stir constantly to simmer. DO NOT allow to boil. Serve beef over noodles or rice, with sauce.
