Ingredients
- 3/4 to 1 pounds sirloin steak, cut into strips
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons butter or oil
- 2 - beef bouillon cubes or beef broth packets
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- - rice or noodles
How To Make beef stroganoff

Step 1In large skillet, saute mushrooms, onions and garlic in 1 tbls. butter until golden brown. Remove from skillet.

Step 2Add remaining butter and brown meat on all sides for appx. 15 minutes.

Step 3Dissolve beef broth in boiling water, add to meat and add tomato paste, mustard and salt and pepper. Simmer 45 minutes until tender.**

Step 4Add mushroom mix. Combine flour and water and pour into meat mixture, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil and thickens.

Step 5Reduce heat. Stir in sour cream. Heat again but don't boil. Serve over rice or noodles.

Step 6** At this point, you can add the mushroom mix and transfer to a crock pot and allow to simmer until beef is tender. Follow the rest of the recipe, keeping it in the crock pot.
