Ingredients

3 1/2 lb
beef top round steak, boneless (eyeround ok), cubed or slices , as in stir fry slices
1 1/2 c
onions, chopped
1 1/2 lb
mushrooms, fresh
1 1/2 tsp
salt
2 tsp
worcestershire sauce
6 Tbsp
flour
1 c
butter
6 tsp
tomato paste
3 c
boullion
3/4 c
sour cream
1 1/2 c
heavy cream
2 Tbsp
dry white wine

How to Make Beef Stroganoff

Step-by-Step

  • 1Add wine to heavy cream. Set aside
  • 2Melt 1/3 cup butter and saute onions until golden
  • 3Remove onions from heat
  • 4Melt 1/3 cup butter and saute mushrooms,they should be brown and tender.
  • 5Roll beef in flour
  • 6Melt last third of the butter and saute beef.
  • 7Add bouillon, salt, onions.
  • 8Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours gently til beef is tender.
  • 9Add tomatoe paste, worcestershire sauce, creams and mushrooms.
  • 10Simmer gently or just reheat without boiling.
