  • 3 1/2 lb
    beef top round steak, boneless (eyeround ok), cubed or slices , as in stir fry slices
  • 1 1/2 c
    onions, chopped
  • 1 1/2 lb
    mushrooms, fresh
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • 2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 6 Tbsp
  • 1 c
  • 6 tsp
    tomato paste
  • 3 c
  • 3/4 c
    sour cream
  • 1 1/2 c
    heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    dry white wine

How to Make Beef Stroganoff


  1. Add wine to heavy cream. Set aside
  2. Melt 1/3 cup butter and saute onions until golden
  3. Remove onions from heat
  4. Melt 1/3 cup butter and saute mushrooms,they should be brown and tender.
  5. Roll beef in flour
  6. Melt last third of the butter and saute beef.
  7. Add bouillon, salt, onions.
  8. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours gently til beef is tender.
  9. Add tomatoe paste, worcestershire sauce, creams and mushrooms.
  10. Simmer gently or just reheat without boiling.
