Ingredients

  • 1 pound carrots
  • 2/3 cup carbonated soda water
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 pound sirloin steak
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 small onions, diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

How To Make beef strips and carrots

  • Step 1
    Peel carrots and cut into thin slices (crosswise at a slant).
  • Step 2
    Place in a saucepan with the soda water, wine, 1/2 teaspoon salt and sugar.
  • Step 3
    Cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until tender.
  • Step 4
    Meanwhile cut the meat into very thin slices.
  • Step 5
    Heat the vegetable oil and saute the onions about 5 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Add the beef slices; cook for 5 minutes, stirring often.
  • Step 7
    Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
  • Step 8
    Add the meat and onions to the carrots.
  • Step 9
    Mix carefully.
  • Step 10
    Stir in the cream.
  • Step 11
    Heat through but DO NOT boil.
  • Step 12
    Correct seasonings if necessary.
  • Step 13
    Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
