this was my first time trying to make a stew, the family loved it. it was also great for leftovers to take for lunch. we even had enough to have it again later in the week, when reheating i added 2 cups of fresh green beans and served it over rice

leek or onion finly chopped
1 Tbsp
minced garlic
2 Tbsp
olive oil
2 pkg
stew beef
1 can(s)
stew tomatos- italian style
3 can(s)
beef broth
5 c
1 1/2 c
chopped celery
2 c
potatoes peeled & diced
1 c
carrots, peeled & chopped
1 c
cauliflower, small florets
bay leaves, dried
1 1/2 tsp
cayenne pepper
1 1/2 tsp
2 tsp
oregano, dried
1 1/2 tsp
2 Tbsp
fresh parsley
1 1/2 tsp
salt to taste

How to Make Beef Stew


  • 1brown stew meat with a little salt and pepper. after browned remove from pot. in same pot soften the leeks/onion, garlic and celery with olive oil and salt to taste
  • 2add tomatos, broth, water, oregano, bay leaves and let come to a boil
  • 3add meat, potatoes, cayenne, peprika, pepper,sugar and stew on med to low heat for 30 min.
  • 4add cauliflower, carrots and fresh parsley. continue to stew for additional 20 min. add salt to taste, remove bay leaves and serve

    * I love to serve on top of a scoop of white or brown rice*
