Ingredients
- 3 pounds stew beef, cubed
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1-2 - chopped onion
- 1 can whole tomatoes
- 6 - carrots, cut into 1/2 inch slices
- 2 - chopped celery stalks
- 6 - potatoes, halved
- 2 teaspoons parsley
- 5/8 teaspoon thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 - beef bouillon cubes
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 cup small either fresh,frozen, or canned peas
How To Make beef stew

Step 1Lightly salt and pepper beef cubes and coat with flour.

Step 2In hot skillet, saute floured beef cubes with butter until lightly browned.

Step 3In a heavy pot saute onions until clear.

Step 4Add meat, can of whole tomatoes, 3 cups water, bouillon, parsley, thyme, salt and pepper.

Step 5Add 1 cup of red wine.

Step 6Cover, simmer 1 1/2 hours.

Step 7Then add carrots, celery, potatoes and peas.

Step 8Cook until tender, about 1 hour.
