my grandmother, who was born in puerto rico, taught me how to do this stew. not sure how authentic it is, but it sure tastes good!

    carrots, peeled and chopped into chunks

    beef stew meat

    beef broth
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato sauce, small can
  • 2 pkg
    achiote seasoning
  • dash(es)
    salt and pepper
  • dash(es)
  • dash(es)
    seasoned salt
  • 1 c
    green stuff
  • 1
    bag, frozen peas
  • 4 c

How to Make Beef Stew


  1. First off, the recipie for green stuff:
    8 onions, 4 bell peppers (3 green, 1 red), 1 head of garlic and one bunch of cilantro. Use a food processor to chop very fine. then add about 2 TBSP of EACH extra virgin olive oil, and apple cider vinegar. finally, stir in about 3 TBSP of dried oregano.
  2. put the potatoes and the carrots in the bottom of the crockpot, then the beef. season liberally.
  3. add the beef broth, tomato sauce, green stuff and then enough water to just cover the meat.
  4. cook in the slow-cooker for about 6 hours on low, and about 20 minutes before serving, toss in the frozen peas and give it a stir
  5. serve over rice
