This recipe was given to me many years ago by a close friend and I have no Idea where she got it all I can say is that its hearty, filling and great on a cold night.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb
beef chuck, boneless
2 tbsp
cooking oil
3 lg
potatoes
1 16OZ can(s)
tomatoes, canned and cut up
1 c
chopped onion
1
chopped green pepper
1/2 c
water
1/4 TSP
cinnamon
2 clove
glarlic, minced
1 TSP
salt
1/8 TSP
pepper
1 can(s)
corn, drained
2 medium
zucchini ,sliced

How to Make Beef Stew

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a dutch oven brown meat 1/3 at a time in hot oil,drain
    return all the meat to the pan, add potatoes,undrained tomatoes,onions,green peppers,water ,cinnamon,garlic,salt and pepper
  • 2If you want you can transfer the mixture to a 3 quart casserole and bake covered in a 350 degree oven for 1 1/4 hours stir in corn and zucchini bake 45 min longer.
    when finished add a little more salt & pepper to taste
  • 3I never use a casserole dish I complete the whole meal in a dutch oven.
