Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 1/2 pounds beef short ribs, boneless
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 3/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (or chili sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (hot or mild; your preference)

How To Make beef short ribs

  • Step 1
    Put flour, salt and pepper in a bag.
  • Step 2
    Add ribs and shake to coat.
  • Step 3
    Brown ribs in butter in a large skillet.
  • Step 4
    Put in slow cooker.
  • Step 5
    In same skillet, combine remaining ingredients.
  • Step 6
    Bring to a boil, stirring.
  • Step 7
    Pour over ribs.
  • Step 8
    Cover and cook on low for 9 hours.
