I've been making this recipe for years. My family loves it and it melts in your mouth. I serve it over rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 - lbs of beef round steak
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 - 16 oz can tomatoes (cut up)
  • 1/2 cup onions (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup carrots (cut up) *optional

How To Make beef round steak

  • Step 1
    Cut meat into 6 serving size portions.
  • Step 2
    Combine flour & salt, pound 2 tbls of mixture into meat.
  • Step 3
    Brown meat in shortening.
  • Step 4
    Put meat in baking dish.
  • Step 5
    Blend & bring the rest of the flour mixture into pan drippings, stir in undrained tomatoes, carrots, onions, and worstershire sauce.
  • Step 6
    Stir until thick and bubbly.
  • Step 7
    Pour over meat and bake covered at 350 degrees until tender. About 1 hour and 20 minutes.
