I've been making this recipe for years. My family loves it and it melts in your mouth. I serve it over rice.

  • 1 1/2
    lbs of beef round steak
  • 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1
    16 oz can tomatoes (cut up)
  • 1/2 c
    onions (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c
    carrots (cut up) *optional

How to Make Beef Round Steak


  1. Cut meat into 6 serving size portions.
  2. Combine flour & salt, pound 2 tbls of mixture into meat.
  3. Brown meat in shortening.
  4. Put meat in baking dish.
  5. Blend & bring the rest of the flour mixture into pan drippings, stir in undrained tomatoes, carrots, onions, and worstershire sauce.
  6. Stir until thick and bubbly.
  7. Pour over meat and bake covered at 350 degrees until tender. About 1 hour and 20 minutes.
