I got this recipe from a guy I worked with many years ago. It's one of our family favorites.

Ingredients

1/4 c
shortening
2 lb
lean beef chuck, trimmed & cut into 1 inch squares
1 c
onion, chopped
1 clove
garlic
3/4 c
ketchup
2 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp
brown sugar
1/2 tsp
mustard powder
2 tsp
paprika
1 1/2 c
water
2 Tbsp
flour
1/4 c
water
1 dash(es)
cayenne pepper

How to Make Beef Paprika

Step-by-Step

  • 1Melt Shortening in large skillet over medium heat. Add meat, onion, and garlic. Cook and stir until meat is browned.
  • 2Stir in ketchup, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, paprika, mustard, cayenne and 1 1/2 cup water. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
  • 3Blend flour and 1/4 cup cold water. Stir into meat. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Service over noodles.
