I've been making these for years. My family loves them. If you don't want to use french fries, you can do the same thing with mashed potatoes. You can also, put everything in between the bread and than pour the gravy over the top of it, so its altogher. Know matter how you you choose to eat it, it will always be a pleaser! :)

How to Make Beef Manhatten

Step-by-Step

  1. Prepare french fries by directions on the package. I usually put mine in the oven.
  2. Heat the canned beef in a sauce pan. I cook it down until all the juices are gone, but not dried out. Seperate it so there aren't big chunks.
  3. Heat up the gravy.
  4. When everything is done put some beef on top of your bread and serve with french fries, than pour beef gravy over top of bread/beef and pour over the french fries. Salt and pepper than eat! Enjoy!
  5. For myself, I usually just break up my bread and mix it with the beef than I pour my gravy over everything.... really delicious!!!
  6. You can also do this with turkey instead of beef, just use turkey gravy....
