Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, boneless cut into strips
  • 1/2 cup flour seasoned with salt and pepper
  • - oil
  • 2 - onions, sliced
  • 4 - cloves minced fresh garlic
  • 3 - carrots, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon parsley, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 24 ounces beer, dark irish

How To Make beef in irish beer

  • Step 1
    Dip beef in flour and coat on all sides.
  • Step 2
    Brown in oil, in batches and remove to heat proof pot or casserole.
  • Step 3
    Saute onions and garlic in same oil and add to beef.
  • Step 4
    Add carrots, parsley and thyme.
  • Step 5
    Season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 6
    Pour enough beef broth to cover and bring to a boil.
  • Step 7
    Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
  • Step 8
    Lift meat, onions and carrots from pot to serving plate with slotted spoon.
  • Step 9
    Over high heat, reduce sauce to half the original volume.
  • Step 10
    Pour sauce over meat and serve.
