Ingredients
- 3 pounds stew beef, cubed
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 12 - onions, small white
- 12 ounces mushrooms, stems removed
- 3/4 cup burgundy wine
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
How To Make beef burgundy

Step 1In a sturdy plastic bag, combine beef and flour.

Step 2Shake to coat well.

Step 3In electric skillet with heat control set at 325 degrees brown beef cubes, about 4 to 5 minutes.

Step 4Add onions and mushrooms.

Step 5Saute onions until brown and mushrooms are dark.

Step 6Add wine and broth.

Step 7Bring to boil, stirring well.

Step 8Add bay leaf, salt and pepper.

Step 9Cover.

Step 10Turn heat control down until light goes out (simmer point).

Step 11Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until meat is tender and sauce is thick.

Step 12Makes 4 to 6 servings.
