Ingredients

  • 10 ounces frozen peas with butter sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 - onion, sliced
  • 1 - clove garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 - puff pastry sheet, thawed
  • 1 - egg, slightly beaten

How To Make beef and onion deep dish pie

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 400.
  • Step 2
    Place unopened pea pouch in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes to thaw.
  • Step 3
    In large skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic; drain.
  • Step 4
    Stir in sour cream, flour, thyme and pepper until well blended.
  • Step 5
    Fold in thawed peas.
  • Step 6
    Pour mixture into 1 1/2 quart shallow casserole.
  • Step 7
    Cut pastry sheet to fit inside top of casserole.
  • Step 8
    Place on top of ground beef mixture.
  • Step 9
    Brush lightly with beaten egg.
  • Step 10
    Prick pastry with fork in several places to allow steam to escape during baking.
  • Step 11
    Bake for 25 to 35 minutes.
  • Step 12
    Makes 4 servings.
