Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 8 cans whole kernel corn, 3/4 ounces, drained
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
- CRUST INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 4 tablespoons water
- TOPPING INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
How To Make beef and corn pie

Step 1Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Step 2Cook ground beef and onion in 10 inch skillet, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.

Step 3Stir in corn, tomato sauce, bell pepper, basil, oregano, salt and pepper sauce.

Step 4Prepare crust.

Step 5Crust: Mix flour, cornmeal and salt in medium bowl.

Step 6Stir in butter and enough of the water to make a soft dough.

Step 7Press crust dough firmly and evenly against bottom and side of ungreased pie plate.

Step 8Spoon beef mixture into pie plate.

Step 9Bake 25 minutes.

Step 10Sprinkle with cheese.

Step 11Bake about 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

Step 12Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
