Beef and Bean Burritos

I used to work at a restaurant who served their burritos deep fried and topped with american cheese and chili. They were crispy and so good! Of course, you can buy your frozen burritos premade, for a really quick meal.

ground chuck
1 pkg
taco seasoning, 1 oz. pkg. old el paso
2/3 c
1 can(s)
refried beans, 15 ounce
8-10 medium
flour tortillas or large size
1 pkg
cheddar cheese, shredded
3 c
oil or shortening for deep frying
1-2 can(s)
hormel or wolf brand chili 19 ounce
8-10 slice
american cheese

How to Make Beef and Bean Burritos


  • 1Brown ground chuck. Drain.
  • 2Add Taco seasoning and water to beef. Cook until water is absorbed.
  • 3Heat refried beans in saucepan.
  • 4Heat flour tortillas in skillet or microwave to soften.
  • 5Assemble individual burritos by spreading beans, gound chuck and shredded cheese on top of tortilla. Roll up and tuck ends. Note, Variation: This photo shows a corn tortilla added after the refried beans.
  • 6Wrap in plastic wrap or ziplock bag and store in the freezer until frozen & ready to cook.
  • 7TO COOK: Remove frozen burrito from the freezer. Deep fry in hot oil until crispy & done about 3-5 minutes on each side. Remove from oil and place on paper towels. Lightly salt, if desired.
  • 8TO SERVE: Top with 1 slice of American cheese and cover with chili.
