Ingredients

  • - 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef or ground turkey
  • - 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • - 1 tbsp. lemon pepper seasoning
  • - 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • - 1 1/4 cups catsup
  • - 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • - 2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
  • - 1 tbsp. dry mustard
  • - 1 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • - 2 cans pork and beans in tomato sauce, 16 oz. each

How To Make beale street baked beans

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. In a large skillet, cook beef (or turkey) and onion til meat is brown,sprinkling with lemon pepper seasoning and garlic powder after meat has started to brown. Drain. Transfer to medium bowl
  • Step 2
    Add catsup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, and pepper. Mix til well combined.
  • Step 3
    Carefully stir in beans til well mixed. Transfer to a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Bake, uncovered, about 30 minutes or til bubbly. Makes 10 to 12 servings. Note: This recipe says "family, fireworks, and fun." It was always on the menu with sesame fried chicken, fresh fruit salad and hot buttered bread. When I need a sure fire hit for any gathering, I bring these beans. Even men ask for the recipe.
