How to Make Battered Franks
- Sift together : flour , baking powder , salt ; Mix in cornmeal.
- Cut in shortening ; add egg and milk ; stir until blended.
- Heat vegetable oil up to 365° in deep fat fryer or a large pot.
- Insert a wooden skewer in the end of each Frankfurter if desired.
- Dip frankfurters in batter , 1 at a time.
- Place dipped frankfurter in hot oil , fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
- Place on paper towel to absorb extra oil.
