How to Make Battered Franks
- 1Sift together : flour , baking powder , salt ; Mix in cornmeal.
- 2Cut in shortening ; add egg and milk ; stir until blended.
- 3Heat vegetable oil up to 365° in deep fat fryer or a large pot.
- 4Insert a wooden skewer in the end of each Frankfurter if desired.
- 5Dip frankfurters in batter , 1 at a time.
- 6Place dipped frankfurter in hot oil , fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
- 7Place on paper towel to absorb extra oil.
