Ingredients For barbecued meatballs

  • 1 1/2 c
    soft bread crumbs
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 lb
    ground pork
  • 1 c
    instant dry milk
  • 1/4 c
    chopped onions
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • BBQ SAUCE
  • 1
    small onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 slice
    lemon
  • 1/2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    celery seed
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    vinegar
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 2 - 3 dash
    tabasco sauce

How To Make barbecued meatballs

    For meatballs: Soak bread crumbs in 1/2 cup water. Combine with next 7 ingredients in a large bowl; mix well. Shape into 12 medium-sized meatballs.

    Place in baking dish; cover with BBQ sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Turn once to prevent burning during baking. Add additional water to prevent sticking. Serve with rice.

    For BBQ Sauce: Saute onion in skillet with butter. Add remaining ingredients plus 1 cup water; mix well. Bring to a boil.
