Apparently this is a rarity on the West Coast as my California cousins had never had brisket before! It's a wonderful entree for a group and if there are leftovers, makes great sandwiches.

Ingredients
- 4-5 pounds brisket of beef
- 1 can beef consomme
- 1/4 cup lemon juice concentrate
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
- 1 teaspoon worcestshsire
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
How To Make barbecued brisket

Step 1Combine ingredients (except barbecue sauce) and pour over brisket to marinate overnigvht.

Step 2Preheat over to 300 degrees. Cook in marinade about 1 hour per pound. During the last half hour uncovder, top with barbecue sauce and continue cooking until tender.

Step 3I sometimes put the marinated beef in a slow (175 degree) oven and let it cook all night. Then finish it at a higher heat the next day.
