cider vinegar
1 Tbsp
prepared horseradish
1 Tbsp
black pepper, coarsely ground
1/2 lb
beef brisket
2 large
onions, sliced
carrots, cut into 1" slices
potatoes, unpeeled quartered
salt to taste
pepper to taste

How to Make Barbecued Beef Brisket


  • 1Combine ketchup, water, onion, vinegar, horseradish, mustard and pepper.
  • 2Place brisket in a shallow glass baking dish.
  • 3Pour marinade over; cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • 4Heat oven to 350.
  • 5Scatter onions on top of meat.
  • 6Cover and bake 2 1/2 hours.
  • 7Add carrots and potatoes; cover and continue baking until meat and vegetables are tender, about 1 hour.
  • 8Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • 9Cut meat into thin slices.
  • 10Use the pan juices as sauce.
