Mark's family recipe for what I would call sloppy joes.

Stove Top


  • 2 lb
    hamburger (they said it was 'hamburg')
  • 2 1/2 medium
    white onions, finely chopped
  • 3 Tbsp
    cider vinegar
  • 5 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1 c
    celery, finely chopped

How to Make Barbecue, Mark's


  1. The spices and flavorings above are approximate; adjust to taste.)

    Fry onions and hamburger together until meat is browned. Drain the grease. Add other ingredients and simmer about 35 minutes (or longer if desired).
    Serve on hamburger buns.
