    round steak, 1 inch thick
  • ·
  • 1
    green bell pepper
  • 4
    celery stalks
  • 3 large
  • 28 oz
  • 1/3 c
  • 8 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Baked Swiss Steak


  1. Roll meat in flour and brown in fat in skillet.
  2. Place in a large, deep baking dish.
  3. Cut onion, pepper, celery and carrots in large pieces and add to the meat.
  4. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the meat.
  5. Bake, covered, for 2 or more hours at 325, until tender.
  6. Serves 6 to 8.
