This is a favorite at my house, sure to please anyone you serve it to.

Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 pounds beef brisket flat cut if possible
  • 1 medium yellow or red onion
  • 1 medium bell pepper
  • 1 - 14 oz cans beef broth
  • 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil

How To Make baked beef brisket

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. While oven is preheating lightly brown the brisket on both sides in oil in a large fry pan.
  • Step 2
    Transfer brisket into a 9"x13" 4 quart glass baking dish. Pour beef broth into the dish.
  • Step 3
    Slice onion and bell pepper and arrange on the top and around the brisket. Tent the pan with foil and bake at 350 until tender about 3 to 4 hours. If the liquid cooks out add more, however it should not since the baking dish is covered.
  • Step 4
    Use drippings to make gravy if desired. This roast is always a huge hit at my house! I serve it with crock pot mashed potatoes and other side dishes. Enjoy!
